Dieu Han, 22, became the first Vietnamese girl to win the Miss ASEAN crown at the contest in Chiang Rai, Thailand.

Han is a second-year student of HCMC-based Hoa Sen University and models for VC Modeling in town. Prior to the contest, she was a finalist at Miss Vietnam World 2010 contest in Nha Trang.
The contest aimed to highlight the beauty of national costumes of Asean countries. Han impressed the judging panel with her red lace ao dai (Vietnamese long dress) featuring the lotus flower by popular designer Vo Viet Chung. Han also pocketed the best skin title. First and second runners-up were Patrici Gunawan from Indonesia and Pannita Thongjamroon from Thailand.
After enthroning Miss Asian in a competition held by Thailand’s government, back to home, Miss 9x Dieu Han- The first Miss Asian of Vietnam has registered to the position of a Tourism Ambassador of Vietnam the term of 2013- 2014.
On her personal facebook, Miss Asian Dieu Han asked for feedbacks from her friends about the registration to promote the tourism of Vietnam. She shared: ” Miss Asian should or should not be in the position of a Tourism Ambassador of Vietnam. It’s hard to make a decision now because ownself needs more experiences. The former Toursim Ambassador of Vietnam- Ly Nha Ky’s effort was significant, therefore, the pressure to a new Ambassador is not small at all. There are some encouragements, at the same time, some advised not to take the position. However, give a big thank to everyone who has given me advices. I need more times to think about it…”.
Her sharing has been receiving a lot of positive replies, a number of responses said Dieu Han should become an icon for The youth of Vietnam (9x), especially, she is the first Vietnamese to be Miss Asian- a trusted competition with 21 year- experiencing, therefore, it is a good decision if she registers for this position.
Asking why Dieu Han has decided to register to be a Tourism Ambassador, she truly shared: ” When enthroning Miss Asian, the organization of the competition asked me in the near future, there will be a lot of activities together with the organization to travel to different Asian countries to promote about culture, history and tourism, on the other hand, work on many charity plans. Due to the reasons, I thought about an idea of being a Tourism Ambassador of Vietnam, to share the image of people and culture of Vietnam.”

“Is it a way to promote your own image?” asked Dieu Han. She answered firmly: ” If I wanted to promote my image, it would be just right after being Miss Asian, not necessary to wait until now. I just want to repeat that I don’t want to reply on the important responsibility to the country to promote for own interest. The only purpose is to share and promote the images of people and culture of Vietnam. I really hope that everyone has a right though about this matter”.
When being asked if becoming a Tourism Ambassador, what and how Dieu Han will do to develop the tourism of her country as well as raise funds to work on different charity plans. She just smiled and said let future answer. However, Dieu Han said enthroning Miss Asian as well as being invited with Miss Asian’s organization to travel to different Asian countries to promote culture, history and tourism, at the same time, with the strength of 9x generation, it is already advantages.

To share about her current works: besides studying in school, shooting, acting on advertisements, joining different events, at the moment, Han is responsible for her new position- Miss Asian, together with the organization going to different countries in Asian to promote about culture, history and tourism, at the same time working on charity plans.
